Patience is a Virtue or something
Our second day in Firenze we spent exploring the city by wandering somewhat aimlessly which has beceome my favourite method of touristing.
Whilst wandering the streets, we came across the Santi Michele e Gaetano, where I made poor Emma wait so I could get the photo of the priest standing alone outside the church in just the right spot. He paced back and forth for nearly 10 mins before he stopped there.
We also came across the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio and the markets near Piazza del Duomo where we stopped for lunch.

New Obsessions
The manholes in Italy were so striking that it's sparked a new obsession. They come out stunning in black & white and I can't wait to see how they come out on canvas.
Traditions are Important
As has become our custom, we found a great place to wait for public transport. This time we opted for prosecco at the Firenze Mercato Centrale whilst waiting for the train to Verona.
The markets are split over two levels, and the top level is home to some great restaurants and a large central area with tables. The lower level consists of vendors selling fresh produce, meat, nuts & spices. Here you can purchase from any of the stalls and/or restaurants and eat communally on the upper level.
Emma is one for great ideas and we purchased fresh strawberries from a grocer on the ground floor for putting into the aforementioned prosecco... She's a clever woman, that Emma. She's also not too bad at taking photos.
And thus our new tradition has been set in stone. Waiting for public transport with wine.
