Welcome

I'm a photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. I have shot a variety of projects, including portraits, fine art landscapes and product photography for businesses. I have also shot motorsports for something a little more challenging. In my spare time, I'm currently working on a timelapse series of New Zealand having recently included Lake Tekapo and Aoraki (Mount Cook) to the list.

TBT: Christchurch 2008

Back in 2008 I finally got to visit Christchurch. My cousin and I went down to celebrate my birthday and while the cold temperature was a bit of a shock to my JAFA disposition, it was rather beautiful.

Being that it was 2008, it was before the earthquake took Christ Church Cathedral away from the city. My cousin and I walked the stairs to the top of the cathedral and with hindsight as wonderful as it is, I'm glad we did it. Though, this is the second time I have made the decision to climb an architectural landmark at the last minute, only to have it come down not long after. I'm starting to wonder...

The Cathedral was beautiful and fortunately I was able to get some photos of the interior. We also visited the museum which is beyond awesome because they let you climb on things. I know this because I didn't get asked to leave - unlike my visit to Harrods...

Finally, my favourite part of Christchurch, SOL Square. One of my friends is a local, and after spending a few hours with her exploring Brighton and the pier, she suggested I celebrate my birthday there. We had dinner at the Fish and Chip Shop in SOL Square. The food was great, but the decor was incredible! It reminded me of being a kid. The square itself was lit up with fairy lights and had an incredible atmosphere. Sadly, it also came down during the earthquake.

The album containing a few of my Christchurch photos can be seen here. These images are available to purchase on canvas or as prints ready to frame, with a portion of profits from any Christchurch image donated to the Christchurch Appeal Trust. To purchase, contact us

You can also donate directly to the Trust, see their website for information.
